La Víbora was a steel bobsled roller coaster previously located at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington, Texas, USA. It was one of few Intamin bobsled coasters, commonly known as the Swiss Bob.
History
The ride first opened in 1984 at Six Flags Magic Mountain, where it was known as Sarajevo Bobsleds.
The ride was relocated to Six Flags Over Texas for the 1986 season and renamed Avalanche Bobsled at Six Flags Over Texas.[1] It was later renamed La Vibora.
The ride closed on November 3, 2024 and was retired at the end of the 2024 season alongside El Diablo.[2][3] Removal began in December 2024.[4]
After the ride's closure, one of its cars was relocated to the National Roller Coaster Museum in Plainview, Texas, USA.[5]
Etymology
The name "La Víbora" translated to English means "The Snake".
